Our strategic move into the business of logistics was designed to purposely integrate the manufacturing and distribution supply chain functions of Flextronics into one seamless flow of product to customers. A core element of our value proposition is the ability to manage a wide range of postponement and configure-to-order solutions — from simple pack out to complete systems integration. By integrating manufacturing and logistics functions, we eliminate redundant processes throughout the supply chain. As a result, products can be quickly brought to market with fewer touch points and less cost.
Flextronics understands the complexities and sensitivities concerning customer product returns. We combine our unique integrated global logistics operations with our manufacturing competence to offer a closed loop repair and reverse logistics solution. By leveraging expensive test equipment and technical expertise, we’re able to deliver the lowest cost solution, improve product performance and provide the best possible response time to customers for Flextronics and non-Flextronics built products.
Flextronics also understands that our original equipment manufacturer customers must keep pace with changing business environments while provisioning a secure, robust and failsafe supply chain. We have made significant investments to determine the best and most practical methods and processes to greatly reduce the time required to transition products (simple or complex), either at volume or as part of the new product introduction process. Our centers share common tool-sets, processes and procedures, all of which align with the global Flextronics Product Life Cycle process (FPLC). This common tool-set allows products to be transitioned seamlessly between facilities using a common data format that includes all process information, documentation management and other administrative information.
Flextronics works towards developing the most cost-effective, end-to-end product manufacturing and supply chain solutions. This involves converting bill of material items to Flextronics internal production where possible, and leveraging Flextronics value engineering and test process optimization capabilities.
