As a global leader in complex machining, our mechanicals group has facilities in every major region of the world, where we supply high tolerance and cosmetic finishes through component machining, tooling and capital equipment. Our complete component and system validation relies on state-of-the-art coordinate measuring machines, visual, and automated inspection systems.

Flextronics delivers value through a wide set of world class mechanical capabilities including machining and plastics and their secondary services, metal fabrication and custom cables. With over 150 3-, 4- and 5-axis computer numerical control machine tools integrated with flexible manufacturing systems, we handle simple to complex milling and turning needs. Our metal fabrication and mechanical assembly service helps customers eliminate the cost stack-ups that result from doing business in multiple locations. For low to medium volumes, we offer soft tooling (or laser with no tooling for new product introduction/prototype), while our metal fabrication facilities serve as a one-stop shop for taking manufactured goods from a flat sheet of metal to a painted end-user product.

In order to ensure added value for customers, Flextronics also offers injection-molding capabilities that are beyond plastics transformation, as well as vertical integration solutions and numerous secondary processes. With molding machine presses available from 20 tons to 1100 tons, we can deliver specialties that include double shooting, insert molding, over molding, in mold labeling, in mold decoration and gas-assisted processes.

To date, Flextronics has built over 3,800 complex molds. Our experience includes high quality products with resin compounds like ABS, PVC, PCABS, HIPS, PC, PA, POM, PBT, PP, TPE, TPU and more. We develop and run patented processes, like Flextronics Seamless Knitless Process, which give us the opportunity to deliver high gloss finish plastic parts that don’t require a secondary painting operation.

We also offer a comprehensive set of custom electronics enclosures and related products and services, including the design, manufacture and integration of electronics packaging systems, power and thermal subsystems, interconnect subsystems, cabling and cases.

These vertical integration service offerings keep it simple for customers to outsource to a single supplier for their integration requirements. Our teams have experience working with self-help kiosks, light rail, semi-conductor capital equipment, telecom and more.
